August 5 Event: Bishop Dillahunt invites you to participate in a Lay Eucharistic Minister training and commissioning

Individuals/teams from congregations in the Southern Ohio Synod Mission Territory will gather at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 104 Main Street, Roseville, Ohio for training, fellowship and a commissioning service to meet the growing need for ministry to the homebound.

Suzanne Darcy-Dillahunt, Bishop of the Southern Ohio Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America AND 'Being the Church: Living Jesus’ Mission' is being offered at the Dayton campus at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 901 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering; Instructor – The Rev. Ed Williams, retired Director of Evangelical Mission for the Southern Ohio Synod.

'Fishing for People--Evangelism for all the Baptized' workshop, Sept 23 led by Pr. Katie Kerrigan

'Fishing for People' is designed for all baptized members of our congregations, not just the ordained or specially trained. You’ll receive real-world, hands-on training and tips you can take back to your congregation to share, plus meet others from our mission territory who also want to share the Good News in their communities. You’ll walk out of this workshop excited and prepared to ‘fish for people’ and will have made a few new friends in the process.

All are invited to join Bishop Dillahunt for a synod wide Reformation Service on Oct 22!

New Opportunity: Epiphany, Centerville will be hosting a Bishop's Youth Ambassador Program (YAP) Session on Monday July 24th from 9:15 to 11:15 am at the Austin Campus.

Bishop Dillahunt (along with a couple of her High School Synod Ambassadors)  will be leading the session. The YAP is an educational component of the synod. It's goal is to help young people to understand the basics of Churchwide and the Southern Ohio Synod. Including how they are structured and what ministries they offer.

This particular session is open to Middle School and High School students. Adults of all ages are welcome to attend.

Consider having your Gathering bound students attend a YAP session before next summer.

After receiving feedback from more than 100 Listening Events and hearing from several dozen specialists, the task force has written the study “Faith, Sexism, Justice: Conversations Toward a Social Statement” as way to invite broad engagement with the questions and issues.
