Sign up now for the Capital Bowl Feb 2-3, 2018
Greetings in Christ!
My name is Drew Tucker, and as the new University Pastor at Capital University, I’m thrilled to invite you and your youth group to attend the Capital Bowl. This overnight retreat, designed for high schoolers and their chaperones, is scheduled for the Friday and Saturday of Super Bowl weekend.
Cost: $45 per student and $25 for chaperones. We are requesting one chaperone for every five youth in attendance. This cost includes two meals (Friday dinner and Saturday breakfast), snacks, and programming. The retreat is open to middle and high school students. Registration will close once we reach 120 participants.
Leadership: Myself, Rev. Todd Mills (Congregational Relations), Garien Hudson (Director of Admissions), along undergraduates and seminarians are planning and leading the event.
Time Frame: Check in begins Friday, February 2nd at 5PM on campus at Capital University. The retreat officially ends at Noon on Saturday, February 3rd. However, if you or your group would like tickets to the Capital Men’s Basketball game against Mount Union (2PM tipoff), we can arrange for tickets for your group and will provide recommendations for local lunch options.
Overnight Accommodations: We will stay overnight in the Kerns Religious Life Center, so please bring sleeping bags and pillows! If a shower is needed on Saturday morning we can arrange for students to utilize a locker room in the Capital Center. Past experience says that this is not necessary.
What to Expect: The retreat will include teaching from Dr. Julie Faith Parker (Trinity Lutheran Seminary at Capital University) and Jenny Frantz (Director of Congregational Relations and Camp Luther for Lutheran Outdoor Ministries of Ohio), as well as games, food, a campus tour, small and large group discussion, and worship.
Registration: Fill out the attached form and return with payment, addressed to:
