Synod Assembly: June 6-7 at Wittenberg University, Springfield

Synod Assembly is spread over 2 days, with all activities taking place in Springfield, Ohio at either the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel (100 S. Fountain Ave) or Wittenberg University. Friday, June 6 offers education, fellowship and worship opportunities, while Saturday, June 7, focuses mainly on the legislative portion of our annual gathering. Both days offer opportunities for all members of the Southern Ohio Synod to meet new people, learn about new and different ministries, and be a part of uplifting synod-wide worship services. Welcome

Check out our photos on the Southern Ohio Synod, ELCA Facebook page to see what the 68,000 baptized members of our synod have been up to and what kind of ministries are touching lives and changing hearts. (You don't need a Facebook account to view the photos, so take a look!)

The Southern Ohio Synod's 203 congregations represent 68,297 baptized members of the ELCA. The Southern Ohio Synod equips congregations to be and make disciples of Jesus Christ by providing ecumenical resources, support services and programs that build and sustain healthy congregations.

"Synod" is a Greek word, which means to travel a common road; to walk together.  This is the role of the Southern Ohio Synod. . . to assist our congregations and leaders to continue their walk together in service of Jesus Christ.

Please take some time to explore our website and discover the resources available to you through our synod.  Type in a word or phrase in our search engine, found on the left-hand side of the home page under our synod logo.  The search results will help guide you to the webpage containing the information you are seeking.

We send a weekly e-bulletin to those who wish to receive news from the synod more than once a month and who wish to conserve paper and postage costs associated with a hard copy mailing.  If you would like to be included in the weekly e-bulletin distribution, please send an email to Susan Barton-Nonno, Communications Director, requesting that you be added to the distribution list.  Please include your name, organization/congregation, city and a daytime telephone number.
